Why this score Ukrainian general, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces until his July 2026 dismissal; a party to the war whose battlefield claims (e.g. territory reclaimed) require independent verification.

Ukrainian forces reclaimed 743 square kilometres of occupied territory so far this year, and I am handing my successor an army conducting offensive operations.

Now corroborated in substance, not in figure. On August 12 Ukraine announced its Oleksandrivka counteroffensive had liberated 745 sq km since January 29 — the aggregate Syrskyi's near-identical 743 almost certainly referenced — and ISW independently assessed about 627 sq km, but on a single secondary axis, not the national net, where Russia kept gaining elsewhere.
